Suspend horizontal copper tube from above. The Copper Gard split ring hanger clamps around copper tube and hangs from a threaded rod, with a copper-plated finish that prevents galvanic corrosion at the pipe contact point. For horizontal copper runs suspended from structure above.
- Split ring installs around the tube and bolts closed
- Hangs from threaded hanger rod (3/8" typical)
- Copper-plated — galvanic protection for copper tube
- CTS (copper tube size) sizing
- Manufactured to MSS SP-58 pipe support standards
✔ Used by contractors and professionals
✔ Designed for reliable jobsite performance
Overview
Split ring hangers are one of the most common ways to suspend horizontal pipe from structure above. The ring opens to install around the tube, bolts closed, and connects to a threaded hanger rod. The copper-plated (Copper Gard) finish matches copper tube to prevent the galvanic corrosion that occurs when bare steel contacts copper.
Common Uses
- Suspending horizontal copper tube from decks and structural steel
- Domestic water and hydronic copper piping
- Commercial plumbing and HVAC copper runs
- Any copper run requiring galvanic protection at the hanger
Key Features
- Split ring — bolts together around the tube
- Copper-plated — galvanic-safe for copper tube
- Threaded rod connection (3/8" typical)
- CTS sizing — matches copper tube size
- Manufactured to MSS SP-58 pipe support standards

Frequently Asked Questions
Why copper-plated?
Bare steel against copper tube causes galvanic corrosion. A copper-plated (Copper Gard) hanger matches the tube and eliminates that contact reaction.
Is it UL/FM listed?
No — split ring hangers are MSS SP-58 Type 12 compliant but are not UL/FM listed.
